In the current economy many of us are pinching every nickel and dime we can. But isn’t it politically incorrect to skimp out when it comes to our friends? Not necessarily. What about making a cd filled with your favorite jazz tunes that the happy homeowners can enjoy on a breezy, spring evening? Or an Italian playlist to ignite the atmosphere while cooking a creamy, pasta dinner? You could even write a funky, little poem about the new house and the new neighborhood, throwing in a little humor for a few laughs.
Housewarming gifts do not have to be boring. Yes, a bottle of wine will most likely be used (and probably even enjoyed) but it will eventually be gone and forgotten. It’s creativity that sticks in the mind. So do yourself a favor and put that fifty dollar bottle of select Sauvignon Blanc back on the shelf. Give your friends a memory that lasts.
