Welcome to the Online Racing Championship Association History Page. Below you will find most of ORCA’s storied past, minus the
2001 inaugural season. Enjoy!
‘History in the Making’
Champ Series: ORCA was created in 2001 and only consisted
of one league, the Champ Series. Since 2001, many leagues
have been added to the mix. The Champ Series is now known
as the Cup Series, but continues to be where the top drivers
compete:
* Cup Series – 2004
* Champ Series – 2003
* Champ Series – 2002
IROC Series: This league first came on to the scene in 2002,
running 11 events. In 2003, the series changed to a 4-race season,
but continues to showcase ORCA’s elite drivers:
* IROC Series – 2004
* IROC Series – 2003
* IROC Series – 2002
Grand Nat’l Series: This league first came on to the scene in
2002. They used the Cup cars and followed the Cup schedule.
But now, thanks to the Project Wildfire mods, they use the BGN
cars and follow the BGN schedule:
* Grand Nat’l Series – 2004
* Grand Nat’l Series – 2003
* Grand Nat’l Series – 2002
Sportsman Series: This league first came on to the scene in
2002. It was identical to the Grand Nat’l Series, with
only the night they ran being the difference. Trucks replaced this
series in 2004:
* Sportsman Series – 2003
* Sportsman Series – 2002
Lightning Series: This league was identical to both the Grand Nat’l
Series and Sportsman Series, with only the night they ran being the
difference. The Lightning Series was replaced by the Hardcore
Series in 2004.
* Lightning Series – 2003
* Lightning Series – 2002
Rookie Series: This league first came on to the scene in 2002 and
was known as the Winter Series because it served as tryouts during
the off-season. In 2003, the league transformed into the Rookie
Series and followed a full schedule. Since 2003, the Rookie Series
has been the breeding ground for future ORCA stars. In 2004, the
league transformed into a circuit, sporting both Grand Nat’l cars
and Trucks:
* Rookie Series – 2004
* Rookie Series – 2003
* Winter Series – 2002
