The Online Racing Championship Association or (ORCA) was founded by Lee Kirk in 2001. The concept of ORCA was simple, to provide serious online NASCAR racers with the most authentic racing experience possible, via the Internet, while still keeping things fun for racers of all skill levels. To create a more authentic and professional NASCAR racing emulation, ORCA first introduced corporate sponsorship into the mix. ORCA is working with real corporate sponsors who in turn sponsor individual drivers and racing events. This sponsorship money is applied to our prize pool and drivers actually have the opportunity to earn prize money during the season.

ORCA is the first online series that gives the sim-racer the real opportunity to become a true paid professional driver, competing for and representing a real corporate sponsor, while earning actual prize money. Lets face it folks, it doesn’t get more authentic than that!

We have tried to model and market ourselves in the virtual racing world much as NASCAR has in the real world. We knew not everyone could compete or was qualified to compete in the ORCA Cup series, so we have developed a stepping stone process in which novice drivers can hone their skills and eventually move up the ranks. Each series including the elite Cup series will consist of a maximum of 30 drivers who will race in a schedule that mirrors that of NASCAR. Drivers must begin their racing career in the ORCA Rookie Circuit before they can can move up the ranks.

Just like NASCAR, ORCA consists of the Cup series, Grand Nat’l series and Truck series. There is also a Hardcore series which gives ORCA drivers the ability to race full events at 100% race distance, using cockpit view and an IROC series.

At the end of each season, drivers from the the Cup, Grand Nat’l and Truck ranks who finish in the top 5 will be invited to run in the IROC series. This also applies to the top 5 IROC finishers as well.

The Rookie Circuit will house newcomers using both Grand Nat’l and Truck formats. As the season unfolds, the top rookies will be promoted to a league of their choice, while others will continue to hone their skills in the Rookie Circuit until they are ready.
